My Goals

I have stated that I am committed to making sure students are aware what SUS does for students and help expand on many of the current services SUS already provides. The question of how naturally arises.

I plan to do this by:

1) Working with the VP-internal, the Executive Secretary and the SUS web-master in creating a SUBSTANTIALLY improved and streamlined SUS website, one that contains helpful information on NSERC, student employment opportunities, graduation events and other relevant news and events that are important to science students.

2) Getting student input/opinion concerning various science merchandise, like the science week t-shirt and mug. Furthermore, I plan to gauge student interest in various pilot projects, such as having an awesome Science UBC jacket (one that's much better than those engineering jackets). I will achieve this by distributing surveys before lectures.

3) Working jointly with the incoming VP-external in running the Science Week sponsorship committee, so that Science Week will be way better than ever before! After all, representing various outside communities on behalf of SUS fits the PR bill.

4) Harnessing my innate powers in poster-making ability to create the most eye-catching and kick-butt posters EVER! These prestigious works of art will be plastered all over campus for everyone’s viewing pleasure. They will be so good that nobody will want to take them down!

5) Making SURE there is an open line of communication between the student body and myself. This is crucial since the position would require me to act as a visible public figure of SUS. It means that people would be more likely to address concerns to the Public Relations Officer.
